Wednesday Weigh In

It's been a weird week. I've been bouncing around between 197-197.8. I haven't felt great, so I haven't eaten much at all, but continued with my treadmill and weight lifting according to schedule. Yesterday I was up to 199.6. What the......? Today, though I'm at 196.8 - totally weird. But I'll take it. Just a .2 loss. I'm assuming it's bloating. My ankles were swollen last night when we went to our ballroom dance lesson.

Next Tuesday, we're going to the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park for a couple nights to do some ghost hunting over Halloween. ;-) For those of you not familiar with this particular place, it's where Stephen King was inspired to write The Shining. The TV mini-series was filmed there because he was ticked off they didn't film the movie there. Lots of cool ghost stories about the place. Anyway, I'll weigh myself before we leave and count that.

My baby sister is doing a weight challenge at her children's school with other parents and teachers and the one who loses most by body weight percentage wins around $200. She's in the lead so far with SEVENTEEN pounds gone in 5 or 6 weeks. Her big advantage was giving up SODAS! (Diet sodas!) Way to go, Sarah! We're about 2 pounds apart right now, so she's thrown down the gauntlet!

My goals for this week:
1. get in bed by 10:30pm. I've been staying up way too late
2. walk on the treadmill AS SOON as I get up. I've been sitting around first, so by the time I have my breakfast shake, it's after noon.

Now, if cheesecake had all the broccoli nutrients plus could conquer bloating, we'd definitely have a winner. If they are going to genetically modify food, why can't they make that happen! Your "Hallo-day" next week sounds very cool!! How exciting!

What a neat thing to do for Halloween! My husband would love something like that - I'm a bit of a chicken myself.

I guess you and I both need to just keep plugging away, one ounce at a time!! Have a great ghost-hunting weekend! Suspense is definitely NOT my thing so I'm pretty sure I'd have ulcers long before we even got there, but I hope you have a great little getaway!

Great job! Its still a loss. I think its important that you are still doing what you need to do and not getting discouraged when you arent seeing IMMEDIATE results. thats the key, it all pays off in the end and the long journey. so hang in there, wait and see what next week brings.

the ghost hunting sounds so fun!

June, I have the same goals. Getting on the treadmill first thing is SO hard for me, but if I don't do it right away it's easy for me to put it off all day until it's too late. I also need to get to bed earlier.

Congrats on the loss. Any loss is a good loss. Most of us could benefit from more sleep. I personally think most people in power are making bad decisions due to lack of sleep. Someone needs to insist these people get to bed at a reasonable hour.

Hope your week goes well. The ghost hunting sounds like fun...BOO!

Water weight just kills me. Do you feel slimmer and do your clothes fit ok? That tends to be my test. The scale is not my friend when water is an issue!

I had a no gain, no loss week, and I think it is water weight too. I know how it is when you work out, eat the bland food, and step on the scale wanting to see more progress. But keep the faith.

I like your second goal- they say that you should do your exercising in the morning so it is not hanging over your head which makes it seem more like a chore.

Have fun ghost hunting-sounds fun!

Congrats on the loss...no matter how long it took for the scale to register one, LOL!

Have fun at the hotel!

I know how weird it is to lose 3-4 lbs overnight. Drives me crazy-but as long as it is in my favor I won't complain too much.

I like your "current vs goal weight" picture on your blog-puts things into perspective doesn't it.

Congrats! Yeah, we should take every bit in our favor we can. lol I hope you're feeling better by now since I'm a day behind. :-) As for The Shining....eeeeewwwww creeeeeeepy. I watched it ONE TIME (I don't do well with movies or even books like that - too active of an imagination) and after that the ex used to torture (ie scare the bejabbers outta me) by doing the "redrum" thing. BLEAH!

Ok, great, now I've gone and given myself chills. *sigh* Happy hunting. ;-P
