Inspiration & Recipe

Just read the People article about Valerie Bertinelli who got into a bikini by her 49th birthday, so I'm using her as inspiration to get there by my 50th! (Next March) Although I don't think I'll ever be brave enough to do a bikini!

I'm borrowing Annalisa's idea to post a recipe. I'll do some that I use, not my family. Though my daughter saw my Cherry Chocolate Waffle one morning and immediately wanted her own. She weighs 120lbs, so I made hers with milk chocolate, her favorite.

Today's Lunch was a Turkey Wrap - Total - 278 calories
I kind of modified this from the Flat Belly Diet recipes (FBD get used to those initials! LOL)
Whole grain tortilla (50)
5 slices deli turkey (45)
2 wedges Lt Swiss Laughing Cow wedges (70)
2T pine nuts (113cal - I just love pine nuts!)
Plus 1/2 can Amy's Black Bean Vegetable soup. (130)

Yeah! Absolutley no problem... although I plan to include pics with mine... Ha. So there... JUst kidding - I'm in a really good mood. Day 2 & I'm down already (not much, but down isn't up!) and I LOVE all the new comments I'm getting. Doesn't it just boost your spirit? Anyway, good luck - OH, and I was in Colorado just before I moved here, so I know what you mean about the weather. I was on the western front, outside of Glenwood Springs, and oh do I miss it! And the people were so lovely, although I don't miss the politics.

I love pinenuts too! And Cherry Choc Waffle?!?!?! YUM! What's that about?

I'm with A - you should talk more about the waffle! lol.

Putting the wedges on a sandwich/wrap...interesting. Never would have thought about it, but it's a great idea!

I smear the wedges on first, then the pine nuts, so they stick to that and don't fall out! :-D And if you click on the Flat Belly Diet label, you'll get all my FBD posts and find the recipe for the Cherry Chocolate Waffle.

Thanks for the comments... I have really worked hard over the past two years to loose the weight I did. I actually dropped from a VERY tight size 12 to a 6-8. I"m still wearing those same jeans, they just do not fit quite the same...

So, it's not so much the weight I'm unhappy with, just the loss of muscle tone I had... Wish I had a pic of when I was fit that showed the "after" my first time around... only one I really have is when I was in my "new winter clothes" just before we moved to ND...

Thanks again for the comments. I look forward to sharing this journey with you all.

Are you kidding? If you have Valerie B.'s abs, you will be able to do the bikini...she looks amazing!! and you are definitely on the right track!!
I'm feeling motivated and today, I have not stopped moving except for now and earlier I crashed for about 30 minutes before I picked up kids from school...just kept working on stuff around the house, no official workout, yet.
