Resisting temptation

Sometimes I just don't think things through. I didn't think twice about offering to pick up dinner for the kids. They wanted Sonic. It wasn't until I got the food in the car that I realized that I should have let them get it themselves. Oh, the smell! But I didn't sneak even a nibble. Still totally on track for my 4 day jumpstart. Have a headache again. Going to get to bed early tonight.

Once you get past the wishing you could still eat it, you will enjoy the smells...I get satisfaction just from the smells of some food without having to actually taste it. It's kind of hard to reach that point and there are still some foods I want to eat that I shouldn't. Keep up the good work! You've got me motivated again!! Thanks.

I don't think Sonic would tempt me at all. Burger King now... that could be a problem.

I figure as long as I'm eating right, the kids should too We've been out for fast food (A&W) exactly twice in the last two years. Stopping at the A&W in Seligman AZ is a tradition when we make our rt 66 road trips. The kids have burgers and rootbeer floats. I have to skip it, although about a year and a half ago I succumbed to a meal in an A&W in CA....

Woudln't it be nice to be where Sarah is? At least you realized your limits.

You should be proud of yourself! Resisting can be hard, but I do think it gets easier.

wow! That is something to be excited about, not even a nibble?!! You could have HAD a nibble but the point is, is that you didn't WANT a nibble. And even if you WANTED a nibble, you knew that you didn't WANT it in the long run. Does that sound like rambling? hehe...

Oh, my weakness is Sonic onion rings. Kate, I do love the chicken fries at BK, too! My kids NEED high fat, high calorie food (my son for medical reasons) so I can't completely do away with the stuff in the house. So that's a challenge, but one I'm willing to tackle. With the recipes in this book, I don't think I'll feel too deprived very often. After all, I get to eat CHOCOLATE! Had it for b'fast this morning. :-D

Thanks, ladies. Off to do my walk.
